Both Madeleine and Josh grew up in the area, attending schools in Hamilton, before moving to Melbourne in the early 90's to study as teachers.
After a short time in Melbourne, they moved to Western Australia in 1998, where they spent approximately 20 years of their working lives. The majority of this time was spent in the Kimberley region where amongst other things they enjoyed working in remote aboriginal communities (Madeleine as a teacher and school administrator and Josh as a teacher, principal and education consultant to the Independent Schools of WA). Following a sea-change, they then owned and ran The Lounging Lizard Bed and Breakfast in Broome for 8 years.
With a couple of years working in London and Melbourne, a return to WA saw them in the state's beautiful south west where Madeleine was teaching and Josh a school principal for a further 5 years.
A return home to the familiarity of country, eventually saw them purchase an existing, but non-operational group accomodation facility. This was a great opportunity for them to exercise their strengths of creativity, organisation, independence and group influence as they embarked on the challenge of creating a fabulous group accommodation experience. After many hoops, much cash, and a genuine test of resolve, The Outside Inn was born!
We hope to meet you soon.
